WOMBATS Shield is designed around local-first network management. Protection and control run on the device in your network, with no vendor cloud control plane for day-to-day policy management.

What is not stored

WOMBATS Shield does not store browsing history. It is designed for local enforcement and administration, not browsing-history reporting or behavioral profiling.

Operational data

Operational data may be used locally so the device can apply policies, show device status, pause internet access, relax filtering, exclude selected devices, and keep the system manageable.

External sources

Filter updates, catalog updates, software updates, upstream DNS, and similar functions may involve external services. These sources help keep filtering and software current.
